Take a look back at all of the Village's accomplishments from 2023.
Throughout the year, Elk Grove Village continued to invest in business growth and development. The current vacancy rate stands impressively low at 1.88%. In terms of private-sector investment, this year has been particularly significant with over $379 million spent on development projects. Further bolstering this growth, the Village approved two annexations, adding over 130 acres designated for commercial and industrial use. This expansion includes the addition of two data center campuses.
Commitment to future growth is evident in some of the Village’s latest projects. The construction of a new water tower will improve water service to businesses. Additionally, the Village upgraded 2.3 miles of roadways in the Business Park. The Makers Wanted brand gained nationwide exposure through the NASCAR Chicago Street Race. The Envision Elk Grove initiative, which launched this year, will create a comprehensive plan for revitalizing industrial and commercial areas in the Village.

This year, the Village welcomed the new Director of Business Development & Marketing, Sue Dees, bringing fresh expertise and vision to the team. The Block Party series, which showcases local businesses, hit a high note with Builder’s Chicago Corp as the most-read article. On the ground, the Business Development team completed eight Business Ambassador visits, strengthening local business ties. The Business Development Department also helped Elk Grove Village businesses secure over $650,000 in grants.

The Elk Grove Village Community Development Department now ranks in the top 1% of Building Divisions nationally, highlighting a commitment to go above and beyond to ensure the safety and success of its community. Further, Business Facilities Magazine named Elk Grove Village the #1 Business Park in the nation for two consecutive years. These recognitions underline a commitment to creating a thriving, supportive environment for businesses, reinforcing the Village’s status as a leader in Business Friendly communities.
