Gary is a co-owner of Superb Surfaces and Design, a one-stop-shop provider of design, fabrication, and installation. They proudly offer laminate, solid surface, natural stone, quartz, and porcelain, and are proud to be members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and the Natural Stone Institute (NSI). In addition, their installers are background checked, lead-safe certified, and will show up in professional attire. They are also a proud resident of the Elk Grove Village community.
While the company itself may be only a few years old, it is founded and operated by several industry veterans. After spending almost two decades running his previous companies, Gary teamed up with two partners who provided the additional knowledge, financial backing, and operational equipment they needed to hit the ground running. From day one, they were able to operate more like a well-oiled machine than a start-up trying to find their way.
They have been honored to be featured several times on HGTV remodeling shows as well as various industry publications. Additionally, their "state of the art" facility and knowledge have been utilized to provide training/tours to local Harper College design students on several occasions. They have also hosted many events with high-profile general contractors, designers, architects, builders, and vendor partners.
"We've been in Elk Grove Village for more than three years. However, based on my experience working here, we plan on making it our Headquarters as we grow into a global company over the next few years," Gary stated about his time in Elk Grove Village. So why is he committed to remaining in EGV? The answer is complex yet simple: It's all about the location.
Superb Surfaces works with several partners to deliver high-quality results to their customers. According to Gary, Elk Grove Village is the epicenter of all things stone, suppliers, and fabricators. "Nearly 80% of this industry is located within a 10-mile radius of where we are located." Therefore, working in Elk Grove Village means being close to the people they work with the most.
Another benefit of working in Elk Grove Village is access to industry talent. The area is filled with employees who have deep industry knowledge. Superb Surfaces leverages that experience by hiring these individuals for the second shift. "We offer a second, more flexible shift for industry talent to work. Therefore, they don't need to quit their day job. Instead, they can clock out at five and then make the short commute to work for us and make extra money. This also enables us to maintain critical lead times for our clients and minimize overtime."
Superb Surfaces has extensive plans to grow, including expanding into other major markets in the country and eventually some overseas opportunities. All of these plans involve keeping Elk Grove Village as their home. Besides the location, Gary says he will stay in Elk Grove Village because of their commitment to helping their residents grow. "I've worked in a few towns and business parks, and I've never seen this type of willingness and commitment to helping our company succeed. We look forward to the future!"
